Animation.

After looking at line of actions i began looking movement so i looked at Monsters inc.
production companies: Pixar, Walt Disney Pictures
While looking into monsters inc i noticed how Mike the short green one eyes monster moved after and very exaggerated compared to his friend Sullivan who was a bigger and bulky compared to mike.
So from this i started thinking about how size can effect the movements and how different emotions would have different speed when being performed.
The first thing i started looking at was how animations have strong line of action which also makes there action in real time look over exaggerated.
So looking at images of drawings with a highlightyed line of action helped me understand what sort of pose i would want in order to express emotions.
So for example would animate the character jumping with his head up and arms up as well as his legs up that would make a strong line of action almost shaped as a letter C.

My attempts.
These are my own attempts to translate emotions and try over exaggerate them the best i can.

For my poses i really tired to over exaggerate the poses which gives my character a strong line of action as well as makes it easy to notice there emotion.
For my despair pose i made a strong line of action of him leaning foward trying to hold himself up
almost made him into a ball i made him look small and as low as possible.
Compare my despair to my anger pose they are both really different i tried compare anger to explosive emotion but all very tense what also helped my show anger emotion would be the face expression and the hands that are help up as fists.

Evaluation.
For my animation project I found it to be a really frustrating project but very rewarding in the end once completed at first I was not good at animating I knew what I wanted to do I had done my research and already had and idea of what I wanted in my head however when it came down to animating it I found it pretty hard. The biggest problem I had was remembering to place keyframes down then moving the animation forward silly mistakes but I was able to learn quickly and get on with my work.
Hardest part of this project to me was doing the weight shift for some reason I was just unable to get it to look normal however through the use of reference images I was able to do it.
The thing I liked the most is watching the animation after you are done it looked great if you did it properly and is very rewarding.
Although this project was really frustrating and took the longest to complete however I really enjoy watching the end results.
